The Brand

Olga Menchén

Olga Menchén is a fashion designer, founder, and creative director of Menchen Tomas, the Barcelona-based Fashion house, which celebrated thirty years of history in 2025. Trained at Barcelona's Escuela de Artes y Técnicas de la Moda, she began her career in theatre, film, and television — an experience that shaped how she understands fashion: as narrative, as staging, as emotion.

She founded the house in 1995 and remains at the helm as creative director alongside co-director Aleix Martínez, who has been by her side for more than seven years. From its earliest days, the house has built a distinct identity: Ready-to-Wear, Evening and Bridal collections with the option of made-to-measure, exclusive Couture pieces, and a colour palette that is, in Olga's own words, "part of our identity". When the fabric or print she is looking for doesn't exist, she creates it.

With more than three decades presenting collections on leading runways — from Pasarela Gaudí to 080 Barcelona Fashion Week and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid — Menchen Tomas has also built an international presence. The house is a member of the Asociación de Creadores de Moda de España (ACME).

Local production is one of the pillars that defines Menchen Tomas. Every stage of production takes place in workshops and with local artisans, ensuring rigorous control at every step, fair working conditions and an uncompromising final quality — a conscious model of fashion, built on durability, craftsmanship and noble, low-impact materials rather than immediacy.
